Relationship Between Shots

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5ufgkJ-uVE The scene starts with a medium shot following the 180-degree rule of the three characters in the elevator establishing the location where the scene will take place and holds until the elevator doors close. A jump cut then occurs and it is a low angle medium close up POV shot of the antagonist and the female character, Irene, from the right while still maintaining the 180-degree rule. A cut then occurs to low angle medium close POV shot of the protagonist, Driver, looking at the antagonist from the left side. A cut then occurs to a close up of antagonists face and the camera tilting down from the antagonist’s face to the gun in his pocket, showing what Driver is looking at. A cut occurs back to a low angle medium close up of the driver looking at the antagonist and holds until he looks forward, utilizing match action. A cut occurs to a medium long shot of all three characters inside the elevator from the right side and implementing dynamic camera and slowly moving forward to Irene and the Driver focusing on the hand action of Driver. A match action cut is then implemented with a medium shot of Driver’s hand on Irene following with a tilted camera movement upward to a medium shot of both Irene and Driver kissing and holds until they are done and are just looking at each other. A cut then is implemented changing screen direction to a medium shot of all characters and showing the 180- degree rule from behind Irene and her perspective watching Driver grab the antagonist and hit him against the elevator. A match action cut then occurs from Driver hitting antagonist against elevator and changes the 180 degree shot to the right side of the elevator and we see Driver fighting the antagonist. There is then a match action cut to a medium POV close up of Irene watching the fight. A cut occurs to both men fighting again and cuts back to Irene and follows her moving to the other side of the elevator, changing screen direction again. A cut then occurs to the antagonist on the floor with eye line match. A cut then occurs showing us a POV close up of Irene with a cut to the back of Drivers back following a cut to a close up of Irene’s face from the left side. It then cuts to a low angle shot POV shot of the driver and then a quick cut to his foot and a quick cut to Irene to see what he is doing with his foot. It then cuts back to a low angle of driver following a quick POV cut of Irene leaving the elevator and then cutting to the Driver’s back. It then cuts to a medium long shot of Irene looking at Driver and cuts to the Driver inside the elevator looking at her. It then cuts to the medium long shot of Irene until the elevator closes and the scene ends. In this scene, the cuts follow continuity editing with each cut following the action of the characters and their point of view. Matched action cuts and 180-degree rule was implemented in the editing and POV was used to change the screen direction of the scene and maintain the 180-degree rule from every angle. The shots are organized based on the composition and movement throughout the whole scene. Not many colors are found in the scene and there is no dialogue, with character action, facial expressions and perspective driving the scene.
